Hello all... here's one I would like some Opinions on...

1st, Here's a pic of Shoeless Joe

2nd, Here's a later picture of Joe

http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j442/Lumber_Jack_Bat_Co/jj2.jpg

3rd, Here's a picture from 1920's Georgia League (is that Shoeless Joe on the right?)

http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j442/Lumber_Jack_Bat_Co/scan0002.jpg http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j442/Lumber_Jack_Bat_Co/JJ.jpg

Here's a 'mash up of the three pics...

So... is that Shoeless Joe on the end in the Georgia League photo?

All the best -

Smitty, looks like it could be to me...all the facial features seem to match up well.

My buddy NT Eagle thinks it is as well... the photo came with a a vintage Heyder NL Ball that has stenciled around the sweet spot '1921 Georgia League' and the photo has 'GA League Players 1920' on the back and appears to be an original vintage photo (2.5" x 4.5")

Any other opinions?

Looks possible to me. The build certainly looks right -- Jackson was 6' 1", which was uncommonly tall in the early 20th century. Notice how tall the player on the right is relative to the others.

If that's a type 1 photo (vintage, from original negative) of a previously unknown image of Jackson, needless to say you'd have something quite valuable on your hands.

I don't think the eyes match up.

I'm going to say no. Here is a pic of Jackson circa 1923. He's in the middle.

I don't think it's him.

That guy is way too young looking to be Jackson. Here is another Jackson pic from 1925. Jackson was 38 then.

Jackson played out the entire 1920 season with Chicago. So unless the Georgia League's season extended past the Major League season, it can't be him (assuming the inscription is correct-- and I assume it is.)
