I am looking at a Keith Hernandez bat on Ebay. Link is below it is a LS 125 C271 says it measures 35" and is cupped. It has his 17 in the cup and on the knob and also says 33 on the knob(maybe the weight?) any help would be appreciated.

Here are the pertinent H & B factory records for Keith Hernandez' 1986-1989 orders.:

Models C271 and C271 C (cupped) was his model of choice during this period, accounting for almost all of his orders (approximately 35 orders totaling approximately 495 bats.) The cupped bats were ordered approximately 80% of the time. Lengths of the C271C bats shipped to Hernandez for his professional use were all 34.5" and weighed between 32 and 33 ounces.

Check the game use characteristics closely. 34.5" model C271C bats were also sent to various promo companies such as Anaconda-Kaye, Dave's Cards, and others. Those bats did not have a specified weight, but likely would be in the range of Keith's professional orders. Also, a significant number of 34.5" C271C bats went to Baseball Miscellaneous, often with a specified weight which would put those bats in a very gray area with collectors. There are no documented records (in Hernandez' personal factory records) of 35" Keith hernandez signature model bats being shipped to any destination I do not have the Mets Team Order (index bat) records available for review.

Good Luck
