Any help identifying this jersey would be appreciated. Durene knit. Early to mid 70s Rawlings tagging. "Typed" extra length tag (I have only seen this style of type written extra length tag on pro and major college examples. Arched tackle twill lettering. Who has a stash of vintage hoop publications? Thanks.

I've attempted to research this item for about 10 months now. This jersey is a true mystery. Any guesses would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jeff. If that game was from 1985 or 86, then you picked a good one.:)

Size 46 is pretty big for these older styles, isn't it?
Big guy, #11...probably an Elvin Hayes jersey :D

Did you contact the HOF?

Sounds good. 46+2 is very big for the era. The number eleven made me think, BIG E. It has to be from some team of importance, because the quality is supreme.

So many oddball 'all-star' games over the years (like this)...
Hard to find pics, roster numbers, etc.

Please let me know if someone at BB HOF responds to you.
I've had no success in my efforts.
Best of luck.

Sure thing, John.
With the holiday, I can't expect an immediate answer.

Possible AAU All Star jersey?
Dewey
Yes, that is a possibility. Haven't researched AAU or industrial league all-star teams from the early 70s.

I took a look at APBR.org after I posted and it appears that the last AAU All-American (as they were known) team was in 1968. That doesn't seem to fit the time frame you had on the tagging so I'll try to think of other possibilities.

The HOF responded. They don't know of the jersey's origin or any possibilities. My gut is pointing toward an Olympic all-star exhibition game or AAU team. Still searching.
