Just got back from Redsfest!!!

I waited 6 hours before the doors opened and managed to be 11th in line. I was alright with my haul, but 1 item just made it extremely fantastic. Here's most of what I got:

and a ton of hats including Edmonds, Ondrusek, Wood, Francisco, and more.

Most of everything was MLB authenticated. Pictures will be up when I get back to town tomorrow.

Now for anybody going tomorrow, unless they have anything to restock with.. The place is completely raided. They had maybe 1/3 of what they usually have.

And yes, I'm freaking out about landing that Votto, whoa.

I was there early as well & picked up some jerseys..agreed, the place is nearly void of all game used unless it gets restocked..prices surprisingly were better than expected w/jerseys running the gamut low to high end..several hats, couple of batting helmets (Stubbs $200), bats (a little high I thought, most $100 + & most damaged, maybe some of the earlier customers got good wood, I was among the top 10 in the GU section), couple pairs of overpriced pants, outrageously high stadium banners ($400-1000 Votto)..Nice that nearly everything had an MLB hogogram. Smaller crowd than normal, still a lot of fun & the Reds do it right..Good variety of jerseys ranging from commons to the stars w/BP & ST to road, home & Sunday styles. Jay

did you get the votto jersey from fugate? He got the one the reds had for sale, then he sold it.

Yeah, I bought it from Mark later in the evening. He's the best. As far as game used, there's nothing worthwhile left unless they restock. Trashed Bruce bats were still there and about 1556373738 Nix and Janish bats. Still all of the balentein issue jerseys, Burton Road, and a few other names available. Some dealers were selling GU, the 2008 Votto bat I got was from a dealer. Most of the good names left would be in road hats. There was so much I would've expected there that wasn't.

Went today and it was basically a big waste of time

Got nothing from the Reds and the huge crowd was just insane to try to walk through so I left after about 2 hours mainly because I was irritated and got tired of fighting the crowds.

And the Reds selling their stuff in the Team Store was a TERRIBLE IDEA. There was no space to move and it was insanely cramped

What little stuff they had left was marked off 50% when I left and it still wasn't worth it.

Laynce Nix and Paul Janish fans were probably excited if they went today :D

I did, however, get couple of things that belonged to Jim Bowden from a private dealer that I still need to go through.

That almost made up for the day, almost.

From what I have heard and seen there were some decent jerseys that made it out to the public. Heard of just about everyone so far other then Chapman and Bruce (if you picked up a Bruce get a hold of me :D).

Also have to give it to the Reds, kept the prices reasonable on most of the jerseys.

yea, me. I was there and had a great show. The one bat pictured with the purple tape came off my table, but the bat wasn't mine. A friend of mine had that on my table.

Only really went to get one item signed by Joey Votto. Game used first base from 2010 opening day. Waited a long time but it was worth it.

No kidding, and the Reds put on the price tag Game Used Jersey. Looking forward to seeing what these come up as in the MLB database whenever they get entered.

Chris, you should have gone Friday. From everything I have heard and seen there was pounded jerseys from Votto, Phillips, Bruce, Cueto, Bailey, Gomes and guessing many more that are in collections that I am unaware of.

Yeah - the doors opened at 4pm Friday and I'd say that by 5:30 all of the good stuff was gone. I counted 4-5 major purchasers including myself, fellow board members, and a few dealers. Everything I got was either heavily worn or at least worn enough for a few series. I saw plenty of "issued" looking items around. I would've grabbed a Valaika home but it was definitely too fresh. My Votto, Gomes, and Heisey looked like they were worn half of the season or more. A Bruce and Phillips were in there? Geez! I'm looking for a Phillips home if you know who bought it. I've got a Phillips road to trade...
