I recently purchased a Daunte Culpepper 2004 game worn Vikings jersey from JO Sports. It was worn during the 11/8/04 monday night football game against the Colts, and I think I have found a possible photo-match!

The first images are of the back nameplate where there was a team repair below the "L" and "P" in "Culpepper". You can also see a very specific kind of stitching along the bottom righthand side of the nameplate.

After comparing the actual jersey to the images found in Getty, I feel that I may have found a potential photo-match when comparing the above pics to the picture of Daunte and Peyton after the game in Getty images.

A few things caught my eye. The first being in the area of the team-repair. As can be seen in the picture of my jersey, the tear that was repaired caused the fabric to create a "triangle" like shape just below the "L" and "P". If you compare that same triangle-like shape to the image of Culpepper from the game, I believe you'll see the same triangle shape in the game photo.

The specific way in which the bottom righthand side of the nameplate was sewn also appears to match the image from the game.

In the photo of my jersey posted above, you can also see that a purple thread was sewn into the yellow outline in the first letter "P" of the nameplate. Compare that to the image in Getty, and I believe you'll see the same thing.

For reference, I compared the pictures...

You will also notice a small black-mark just above the back number "1" in the photo from Getty. At first, I thought it may have been some sort of paint-mark or stain...but if you compare it to the angle in which the team-repair was sews below the "L" and "P" of the nameplate, the repair appears to follow that same angle. My thought here is that perhaps the black-mark was a jersey tear where the shoulder-pads were exposed through the tear...which would explain the team-repair afterwards.

JO Sports' customer service has been fantastic as even amidst processing all of their sales after black Friday while being very busy, they took the time to try to help me find images from the game and photo-match the jersey. I couldn't say enough about how happy I am with their customer service!

I just wanted to see if everyone else is seeing the same things that I am?

Does anyone know of any other websites to use to look up pictures from the game?

Or do you guys think that I may already have a photo-match?

Just wanted to give this thread a bump in the hopes that some NFL G/W collectors might be by the computer today and able to lend their expertise.

What do you guys think...a photo-match? :)

Another bump...hoping some NFL collectors might be online to help share their photo-matching expertise.

Thanks guys. :)

I would say it is petty close. The folded right corner of the nameplate is really the only match that I can see well. The letter spacing seems to be off, but probably due to stretching? More pictures would certainly help your case. Try to look for photos of games prior to your date that it was worn. The repair would indicate that it saw some previous play.

AP, Getty, USPresswire, Life, SI are all my favorites.

Best of luck.....I think you are on the right track....based on past experience, just because JO matched does not always mean it is accurate.
