Wayne Twitchell, a pitcher whose 10-year MLB career spanned the entire decade of the 1970s, has died at age 62.
Wayne began with the Brewers in 1970, then spent 7 1/2 seasons with the Phillies. He was a member of the Expos from mid-1977 through 1978. His final season was split between the Mets and the Mariners.
To autograph collectors, Twitchell was best remembered for refusing to sign the 1972 Topps Phillies Rookies card he shares with Pete Koegel and Mike Anderson, due to personal distaste for the airbrushed photo used.
