Jose Canseco 1998 Batting Helmet

How can this possibly be a gamer from the 1998 season? The Jays switched logos from the traditional "Blue Jay" (shown on this helmet) in 1997, a year before Canseco played in Toronto. In 1998, the Jays' batting helmets had the logo with the Blue Jay embedded in the Canadian flag (see attached photos). Unless the Jays used older batting helmets during BP, I can't see how this helmet received any game use from Canseco.

The fact that it has been inscribed a "gamer" makes this a very strange piece.

Players dont wear helmets for BP, so probably not that.

I believe this was a leftover and they had Jose sign it saying it was game used, Jose has signed many things "as we SERIOUS canseco collectors know" GAMER. I have tons of photos of jose playing in toronto and I can't find ONE photo match. If anyone can photo match this then great, but until now, it was just signed gamer as a favor to sell. That is why the aution house could not sell because it had no photo match. Jose has signed brand new sambats gamer with no pinetar or any scuff/ball marks. You know this is true if your a serious collector.
