Keith Drumright, an IF who played sparingly with the 1978 Astors and 1981 A's, died on August 7 of an apparent suicide. He was 56.

Longtime Brooklyn Dodger Gene Hermanski, who also played with the Cubs and, briefly, the Pirates, passed away at age 90 on August 9.

Today, the death of longtime former Pirates GM Joe L. Brown was reported by MLB.com. Brown was the GM that put together the 1960 and 1971 World Series winners in the Steel City. He was 91. Brown is also fondly remembered by some of the longtime hobbyists on this site, as he was a press pin expert and also got a few GU Pirates uniforms introduced into the hobby, pre-minor league recycling.
