The ring in the photos belonged to Babe Ruth between between 1914 and 1929. He wore a few different rings during this time frame.

I have done a very short search (nothing on the internet) and came across something close in a book, but unfortunately the photo was too far away. I am actually fairly certain that it was the ring, because I never saw another photo with the double diamond style. I also did not see him wearing a ring while in uniform, so that might narrow the search down some.

The first person who emails me something conclusive gets the reward!

Good Luck and Thanks for all your help!

I've found about 10-12 decent ones at work with my buddy... this may be the best so far.

Couldn't post the picture, but here's the link to a shot. One probably needs to be zoomed in on, but I'm not sure how to do that.

What is the size, are you certain it isn't his wife's ring?

This image is from 1923 and to me, that looks like it could be the ring on her finger.

Not to be a jerk, but I'm not sure how you could "photomatch" a ring. Style match, possibly.

Maybe its my definition of a photomatch.

Anyway, good luck in your search.

I think we all just desperately want $300 - which would likely then be inserted back in the hobby for purchase of something game-used

WOW....Thanks for all your help guys!

I still have 100's and 100's of photos to get through and the response has been incredible! So far Josh has come up with something very interesting. Does anyone technologically savy know how to enlarge something without the distortion?

Thats not to say that there aren't any better photos submitted...I just haven't gotten through them yet.

One thing I know with 100% certainty....This is Babe Ruth's ring and he did in fact wear it.

Here is a cool video:

I have a wire photo of course this is a picture of a picture and the quality is garbage but i have the original in my possession i dont have a scanner or i would try to scan it in but the ring looks almost identical. The photo is of Will Rogers and Babe Ruth at the Boston Childrens Hospital its from 1929.

Still no perfect matches....I'm not really sure why the post was moved to General Discussion? I've never even been on this page before and I assume most others haven't either......oh well?

well if you want a match can you show us some unique distinguishing feature on the ring? your photos don't really show much detail either, just a general looking ring that style matches general photos.

I think he means one that should without a doubt that it is a two stone ring. Most the pictures aren't clear enough to really tell, and it appears he also wore a single stone ring, like the one in the link below, at some point at least.

Yeah, I looked through tons of pictures right after the first post in this thread, but pretty much every one that I found was unclear or one stone (like almost all the ones that have been posted in this thread).

I really don't think that you're going to be able to find a clear match because there just wasn't the clarity in pictures like there is today.

Just my opinion
