View Full Version : MLB Auctions- What Happens If Item Isn't Bid On?

I'm interested in a game used item listed on MLB Auctions. Nobody has bid on the item yet and I think it probably won't be bid on with its high opening bid. Would you guess that the item would be relisted at a lower opening bid, sold at the team store, etc?

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

It depends on the organization running the auction. If the ball club is running the auction, most likely the item will just be put up for sale in their physical store or team-specific online store.

I know for certain that for the Blue Jays, any items that are not sold are simply kept in house and sold for a price either equal to or slightly higher than the auction price. I'm pretty sure the item won't be relisted at a lower bid, but then again, that decision is up to the organization running the auction.

Last year they relisted the pink Mother's Day bats a few times, lowering the starting bid each time they listed.

i know the rangers relist stuff. For non stars they tend to list it a little cheaper, but for the rangers atleast it isnt lowered by much.

I believe the Tigers relist stuff also or at least I have seen them do so on a few occassions.

All of the pink bats I own, I have bought at reduced prices. Starting the bidding at $300.00 they eventually went down to $100.00 last year. They would lower them $50-$100.00 at a time if no bids were received.

The 2008 bat I have was reduced to $150.00.

Thanks for all of your help guys. The bat I was interested in did not get any bids. Let's hope it will get relisted a bit cheaper.

Thanks again

The batch of pink bats that did not sell at $300.00 a piece have now been listed with a minimum bid of $200.00......
