Personally, I would never send anything through the mail to get signed because you really are risking a lot. I once sent a letter, and that worked out well, so you could try that and see what happens.

during the season is a terriable time to try to get through the mail graphs. best time is spring training. like lastings said dont send anything valuable but if u wanna gamble 15 bucks on a baseball or 5 on a photo thats not a huge gamble. also keep in mind alot of players dont sign or have others sign for them or use autopens.
