I Purchased This Hat From The Detroit Tigers Foundation...its Basically A Big Tub W/ Many Hats Mixed In Over The Years...you Have To Do Your Own Homework On Whose It Might Be When You Buy One..the Hats Can Date Back Many Years...heres One I Need Help W/...its Grey Underbill Road Hat....so I Figure From Early 90's Up To 2006 Time Frame..player Number 20 & This Odd Von Hayes Quote Under The Bill. Is There Anyone Who Can Relate This Quote To Why Its Von Hayes Name On It?? Heres The Tigers Who Have Worn 20 Since 1990. Urbano Logo(90),mickey Tettleton (91-94), Derrick White(95), Eddie Williams (96),willie Blair (97,99,00), Gabe Alverez(98),jeff Manto(98),pete Incaviglia(98), Ryan Jackson(01, 02), Omar Infante (02-06)....any Help??

I'll look at some of my hats at home. Not all of my hats are GU, but retail tagging on New Era hats still may be helpful. Do any of the players have a known association with Von Hayes (teammate, coach, etc.)?

I'm curious what other gems you found in that bin. I saw your Fred Lynn hat on eBay. Sounds like fun, but a lot of possible frustration trying to identify players :)

The handwriting of that "20" looks very similiar to Infante's

The saying may have been written by the player but the number was most likely written by the Tigers clubbie or batboy.

Thanks for the input. I also bought a few caps from the Tigers Foundation last weekend. What (if any) tagging differences could identify a 2006 season cap -- i.e., after the 01-05 style, but prior to the 2007 major redesign ? Thanks,

Anyone know of a site showing the different hat labels through time. That would be a great project if it doesn't exist. BTW, I'm not volunteering :D
