Sand Knit Tagging Help - Larry Bird

This is a question i have been meaning to get help on for a while on a couple of jerseys, then i just saw this Bird jersey and mine have similar tags.

So are there game worn NBA jerseys with Sand Knit tags that DO NOT have year tags?

I've been meaning to post up if anyone has seen Bird jerseys with the tagging like in the Legendary Auction, because I was thinking about bidding. I've been looking for an early 80's of his for a long time, but never could find a real one.

From my experience, a year tag on a Medalist Sand Knit Jersey is more rare than a jersey without such tag. Post 1985, MacGregor era year tags are seen more often , but are not definitive.

I am sure i have a picture of Bird (probably in practice) wearing a jersey with same tags.....if i find the pic i'ìll post it

Retails won't have NOBs. Retails will be uniform numbers of stars or semi-stars.

As a rule of thumb, Sand-Knit NBA year tagging didn't begin until Sand-Knit got the exclusive NBA contract beginning with the 1986-87 season. Only some teams used year tags in '86-'87, but they became pretty standard the following season. FWIW, the beginning of the Sand-Knit contract also saw the beginning of the use of the Jerry West player logo on game jerseys, as well.
