US Flag patch on 1999 MLB jersey?

I researched Blue Chip Sports and while some feel their Customer Service isn't up to par but haven't read anything about fake merchandise. More specifically, added patches or other such shennanigans.

Now, I was under the impression that the USA Flag patch on the back collar was added post 9/11/01 on all MLB jerseys.

So can someone give me a reason why this jersey listed as a 1999 Tony Gwynn Padres jersey with the 30th Anniversary shoulder patch also has the US Flag patch on the back?

I looked through Getty Images and can't find a single image of a Padres jersey with the flag and 30th patch. Can someone tell me/show me pics of it ever being worn that season?

Add to the wierdness the fact taht the jersey has a Russell tag first used in 2000...:eek:

If you look closely at the photo you'll notice that it is the regular shoulder patch which is tricolor and not the 1999 Anniversary patch which to two-toned.

I sent this evidence to Blue Chip tonight having brought from them in the past. Waiting for an answer. They obviously are confused about what they have here.

I got a response from Sharon of Blue Chip sports and she confirmed that they posted the incorrect photo on the auction. I suggested that they modify the auction photo or description to match the correct item.
