Since I've gotten to enjoy looking at other member's collections over the years, I just thought I would share mine. I've been an Eric Davis fan since 1986, and have been hooked on collecting ever since. I finally took the step into game used collecting in 2005, and I am kicking myself for not starting many years earlier! It kills me knowing all the stuff I've missed over the years.

Your collection is amazing, I think I've bid against you on at least one of your jerseys. I remember living in Dayton in the 80's and early 90's and Davis was my idol. Its sad to think what might have been. I'm glad to see he is active with the Reds especially during ST and I've seen him in the dugout a few times during the season. I have been able to accumulate three of his bats and find his items tough to track down. Congrats on your collection!!!!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I was able to locate a lot of the jersey's with help of forum members. Even though the forum has had a lot of issues lately, it's still a cool message board! I admit I miss a lot of the old member's like Rudy and Howard. I learned a great deal from their insight.

Yes that was probably me. I run Eric's booth for him every year at Redsfest. Eric does free signings for the Reds, then sells his dvd and does signings at his booth to raise money for his foundation. I took the Orioles and I believe, the Reds BP jersey to show Mark. Mark is a GREAT guy, and was the source for a couple of my jersey's and bats. Very trusted Reds dealers.

Hi Justin, thanks for the comments. I would love to see photo's of your Davis bats. I enjoy reading your posts because you're interested in Reds items. You're always looking for leads and tracking down stuff like I do! I'm curious, which jersey did you bid on?

I was there when you were showing them to Mark. He called me over to see them knowing what a HUGE Davis fan I am. I got a chance to talk with Eric for quite a while at Redfest in the Hall of Fame VIP area. It was an awesome experience.

It was either the Giants or Orioles, I think the Giants, I remember I forgot to bid again at the end and saw you posted it in the pickup section. I'm glad a big fan ended up with it if I didn't. I will get some pics to you as soon as I get home since I'm doing some flight upgrade training for awhile out of town. I've got to make it to Redsfest someday, a dream to meet Eric.

Thanks Bobby, I was lucky enough to win the auction for the hat! I now have 2 1996 home white pinstripes hats, a'96 spring training hat and now I have the '96 road hat the Reds wore that year!

The jersey is a 1991 set 1. I also have the pants from the same year. I matched the jersey to opening day 1991. If you notice, the name is off center to the left when compared to the numbers, I was able to line up the jersey to the one he wore on opening day.

I principally collect Braves jerseys, but do have one Eric Davis home that I purchased from Robb Wochnick in September 1985, from an ad in SCD. It's Davis' 1984 home jersey, #44 Rawlings set 1, size 40, with 'purchased from Cincinnati Reds' stamped in red on the inside tail. Let me know if you have any interest, as I would like to reduce my non-Braves jerseys collection...Charles

The 84 jersey you're talking about has been on there for it seems at least a year. The reason is because they were asking close to 3000 for it which seems quite a bit high.

Yeah I've been tracking that jersey for about 3 years now. He keeps relisting it but never drops the price. He's about $2000 overpriced. I never even contacted him because I didn't want to offend him!

Great collection very impressive. I never understood that if a jersey does not sell why keep re listing it for the same price. I mean after 3 years shouldn't that tell you something.Again major props on your collection. If I ever come across anything i'll let you know.
