Being selected an All Pro is one of the highest individual honors an NFL player can receive. You only have to be selected once and you're now All Pro John Doe for life ! It mean a lot more than a Pro Bowl Selection, due to the exclusive nature of only a few players being Selected. But like a lot of other awards it is highly motivated by stats and fan hysteria/opinion. Especially sacks on the defensive side of the ball. But they did get some of it right. Here's what I think:

Below is each player and a scale of 1 to 10. The closer to 10 the more I felt they belonged.

Quarterback: Peyton Manning (Indianapolis Colts)10++
Running Back: Chris Johnson (Tennesse Titans),10 Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings) 10
Fullback: Leonard Weaver (Philadelphia Eagles)8
Wide Receiver: Wes Welker (New England Patriots)7, Andre Johnson (Houston Texans)9
Tight End: Dallas Clark (Indianapolis Colts)8
Center: Nick Mangold (New York Jets)8
Guard: Jahri Evans (New Orleans Saints)8, Steve Hutchinson (Minnesota Vikings)8
Tackle: Ryan Clady (Denver Broncos)8, Joe Thomas (Cleveland Browns)8

Defensive End: Jared Allen (Minnesota Vikings)6, Dwight Freeney (Indianapolis Colts)9
Defensive Tackle: Kevin Williams (Minnesota Vikings)6, Jay Ratliff (Dallas Cowboys)6
Inside Linebacker: Patrick Willis (San Francisco 49ers)7, Ray Lewis (Baltimore Ravens)7
Outside Linebacker: DeMarcus Ware (Dallas Cowboys)4, Elvis Dumervil (Denver Broncos)4
Cornerback: Charles Woodson (Green Bay Packers)10++, Darrelle Revis (New York Jets)10++
Safety: Adrian Wilson (Arizona Cardinals)9, Darren Sharper (New Orleans Saints)10++

SPECIALISTS

Punter: Shane Lechler (Oakland Raiders) who cares, it's a punter ! LOL
Placekicker: Nate Kaeding (San Diego Chargers)8
Kick Returner: Josh Cribbs (Cleveland Browns) 10++++++++

My main problems were obviously on Defense. They definitely got the secondary right. But Jared Allen,Dumervil, and Ware, were simply selected for their high sack totals. That's fine for the Pro Bowl, but not All Pros in my opinion. Manning and Cribbs were the definition of All Pros this year.

Once again this is just my opinion, and I'd love to hear yours. I'm sure this will spark some debate ! LOL

Selections like this are relative. IE relative to the other players considered. So, you've told us who you do not agree with, but whats more important is who you think is more worthy.

If there were only 1 Fullback in the world and he was horrible, he would win. So to say somebody wasnt deserving, means there must be somebody more deserving. Thats what the real point of this type of exercise should be.

Let's hear what you guys think. That's just my overall opinion of the team. I was more interested in hearing what everyone else thinks of the team as a whole. As far as having Player X instead of Player Y, I'd rather hear what you guys think !

The team came out fairly good. I would have made Clady second team and Michael Roos first team because of CJ's season you just have to reward the line who helped him get there and Roos is the best player on that line and Clady was better last year than this year. Fitzgerald should have been picked over Welker. Peterson should have been second team he was more reputation than production this year with Jackson or MJD replacing him. David Harris should have made it over Ray Lewis on the first team. Allen and Elvis should not have been on the first team they disappeared for long streaches this year and did not do much besides rack up sacks.

Cancel that Peterson comment I just looked it up he had a much better year than I thought although his yards per game and carry were not up to his normal standards.

All the guys you mentioned that didn't belong(except Peterson) were low earners on my scale. The All Pro team is such a high honor, but unfortunately
guys make it on name value alone. I agree with you on Peterson, I think I rated him too high. And I was thinking of Fitzgerald over Welker too !

You must not watch many Cowboys games. He had 11 sacks this year which is actually his lowest total since his rookie year. Ware is a complete player he can do it all. As a Cowboys fan there is absolutely no other LB I would trade him for. I would think if they were going on sack totals alone he would have been selected last year when he had 20.

The amazing thing when looking at these teams is how many great players there are right now at two of the most important positions on any team: Quarterback and left tackle. QB: Manning, Brees, Rivers, Favre, Aaron Rogers, Tom Brady, Tony Romo and Kurt Warner all had great stats and led their teams to the playoffs. Left tackles in the AFC alone: Thomas, Long, Roos, Clady, Ferguson, Oher and Diem are all very good players and add in Peters and McKinnie (when hes not playing against Peppers) from the NFC.
