When flipping through some old yearbooks I noticed a few photos of various players wearing what appeared to be excessively used/worn out jerseys. Evident of the faded and/or partially detached tackle and twill letters and numbers.

Some of the photos I came across showed deterioration of pants, including the ones with multiple "team" repairs and the detaching of the side trim. Most of the observations I made were from the 1970 & 1980's. I understand that it was common back in the day for teams to use older, recycled jerseys often during spring training. We know that a lot of teams were just down right penny pinchers, and would try to get as much use of the uniforms as they could. Just curious if anyone has any photos showing players in deteriorating uniforms.

A young Rickey. You can see where the top of the A's is detached as well as the leg trim by his left knee.

Not a uniform but this is some excessive use.

I think that hat is a fake, the whole thing looks a little "sketchy."

Here are some recycled A's jerseys being used by one of their minor league teams in the early 1980's.
