Saw this being offered on e-bay and had to wonder. If real, what idiot OK'd a Mantle jersey to be ripped into postage stamps?

Get with the times bud! Game Used Jersey cards have been on the market for more than 10 years. Any athlete you can think of has one...Ruth, Mantle, Cobb, Gehrig, Williams...all have jersey cards.

The idiot that OK'd it is probably the same one responsible for that company being a multi billion dollar business. Even if a mantle jersey cost 100k, you would be able to get thousands of swatch squares out of a single jersey. With the cards being valued at 150.00-500.00 for a jersey card and thousands for ones that include a cut signature, the company has nothing but profit to make from it.

Not everyone has the money to own a Mantle jersey, but when companies make these cards, even the most basic collectors have the ability to get in on a piece of baseball history. From that standpoint, it doesn't seem as foolish, does it?

Well,in keeping with making the most money without spending too much,I would safely bet that this is more than likely a fantasy camp used jersey.

The material does not appear to be flannel, so it is a post-career jersey.
