A few months ago, I acquired this old gray flannel jersey that closely matches the style of the Columbus (OH) Red Birds. The Ohio team played from 1931-54 and was the the top affiliate (actually, one of two or three depending on the year) of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Georgia team was the next level down and only lasted from 1936-42.

It can't be an Ohio jersey because the Ohio team had at least one patch on the end of the sleeve every year of the team's existence. According to the local historian here, the Georgia team had exactly the same uniform style only without the sleeve patches; apparently even the number font was the same. There's no evidence that this ever had a sleeve patch, and the number style matches "any time during the 1930s".

Is there anyone out there who might be able to help more specifically date this jersey or possibly attribute it to a certain player (or players, since you can see the tags have washed out completely, leading one to believe that the jersey was re-used over a span of multiple seasons)?
