This is a desperation act, and really do not if it's anything and would love to hear your thoughts. I really need a high-quality zoom for pictures on Getty, but I can't get that so I am going with this. To me, there may be a similarity on the "E", let me know what you think.

I don't think its the same jersey.

I dont think that because I think mine is the jersey in the photo. :) I have the set 1 jersey. A better high res photo would tell though. Mine has some loose threads that should match up if you can find a better pic. We'll probably never know.

We probably won't unless if I can find Hi-res photos. The jersey in the picture was worn in late July and being mine is a set 2 leads me to believe it is possible. I do not know how many sets there are of each particular jersey the Mets order. I have a set E jersey from 06 that was worn in 08, so it looks like the Mets may have 4 or so and that in 07 switched to a number system.

If I remember correctly, set E stands for "extra"...a blank jersey that can be pressed into service...I could be wrong about that though.

The reason I believe mine was the one in the pic was that in that series, Millidge slid on his stomach across the numbers. You can see dirt stains on some other photos. Those numbers on my jersey have loose threads where he slid.

With that photo, I'm 99% sure its mine.

The top of the M on yours, more specifically the second arch of the M - the white part of the M crosses the blue pinstripe and the orange part totally crosses the pinstripe. My jersey meets the blue pinstripe exactly like the photo shows (at least to my eye anyway :) )

look at the positioning of the blue piping in relationship to the "e", it does not match.

Now by looking at it, my "M" (looking in person) looks exact to that photo it has fraying in the same end, and the both 44 are perfect like mine. Mr deputy, do you have pictures of your jersey? This is really interesting and the connection of the "e" looks identical to find because both have the blue strand in the white.

ok, here's a pic. Its dark but I think you can see.

See this portion of the M and how the top corner is - its to the left of the blue pinstripe. That I think is the key. Your top corner overlaps the blue strips.

and here's this one again to compare.

Because of the angle the picture was taken it is hard to tell if Vin.Dep. has an exact match either.

IMO it is a definite that Lastings jersey is not the jersey in the photo supplied for the match. I agree, the way the "M" sits on the blue pinstripe is the kicker.

Sorry Lastings, I know how it goes all too well. Think you got it, and then you don't. Keep looking! Something will turn up. This is what makes it that much more fun to collect.

I am looking more at the 2 bumps under the "T" on the orange. Jim, does your have that?

Sorry, that was on the jersey trying to be photomatched and I don't see that on the blown up photo.

Jim-There is a slight pull in the bottom orange stitching below the center of the "E". Try that too. ;)

Jim - I squared the areas of location to piping and circled 2 imperfections you can photomatch too.

My M matches up and the white bump to the left of the second 4 matches as well (loose thread).

My jersey has more wear though, lots of loose threads across the 4's. I can attribute the wear to these -

Look at all the dirt on the left 4, that's where I have alot of loose threads. They must have become loose when he slid.

Also, Milledge went up on the wall which would also help explain the number of loose threads that I have.

I'll try to post better pics of my jersey...

It may be....it's hard to tell. You need some higher quality photos.

Never thought I'd see a Morrissey avatar on this site. He is the true poet of my generation and one of my heroes!

Take a really close look at my M and E. I am convinced that they are identical becuase the loose strands are in the same spots. It's also hard with my camera because of the flash which doesn't show up the "bump" on the top of my M.
