Its some weird skin rejuvination thing he has been doing....I don't know other than he has always been obsessed with his skin....someone fire his dermatologist.

I think the common thread here is the terrible facial acne that both suffered in their young adult years. I remember Sosa being pretty broken out at one point with Texas.

I guess the bigger your star shines, and the more the cameras are constantly in your face, the more you might do to 'fix' yourself.

Sammy looks strange, but if he thinks it's better than having hundreds of pustules all over his forehead - let him do it.

...and yes, I would guess that even though Sammy had acne when he was skinny minnie in Texas - steroids probably facilitated it as an older man.
