Congratulations to the New York Yankees - 2009 World Series Champions!

I'm finally glad to see that Alex Rodriguez finally came through in the Post Season. But this World Series Championship was a team effort by all.

I love the fact that Posada, Pettitte, Jeter and Rivera now have 20 WS rings combined!

Congrats Yankees!

Congrats to the Yankees for bringing the World Series championship back to NY!

And thanks from this one Met fan for beating the Phillies!

It may be Matsui's last season with the Yankees and it was great to see him finally win a WS Championship and win the WS MVP as a bonus.

What a great season. The 8 year drought finally over for Posada, Jeter, Pettite, and Mo. New Yankee Stadium opens with a championship team. Another champsionship for Steinbrenner. Godzilla conquered New York again. ARod getting his first championship. Damon show the importance of veterans leadership. The ability of Manager Giraldi to communicate and utilize all 25 players on the squad.

What is cool is that I do not think Alex Rodriguez will ever get booed in Yankee Stadium again. There is no question now that Yankees fans believe him to be a true Yankee.

The local news reported that Joe Girardi wore no 27 this season for the quest for the 27th World Championship. If this is true would he be wearing no. 28 next year?

No, he's going to be wearing a bat boy jersey. The BB is going to stand for Back to Back.

I am starting to think that MLB is fixed just like the NFL and the NBA ;). The Powers That Be wanted the Yankees to win.

First the Angels rolled over and died, next the Phillies were not even trying to win. Ryan Howard could have done better sitting on his couch with a Budweiser in his hand instead of a bat !

David,

they asked Joe after the game about wearing #28 next year, and he said he wasnt sure how much he would have to pay to get that number from a player.
