I'm not an expert on Unitas jerseys but I would be very surprised if this one were authentic. A signifiacnt clue to the seller's intentions in my opinion comes from his confession in the description that he knows he will not be getting market value for the jersey and that he cannot guarantee authenticity. He even cites to the Unitas jersey and pants that sold for something like $85K in the recent Lelands auction. So, we know we have an informed collector/dealer here. My guess is that the seller has tried to authenticate this item before or else knows it has real problems. In other words, it's not really a Unitas game used jersey and he pretty much knows that or at least strongly suspects that. I looked at his other offerings on Ebay; he currently has one item up for sale. It's another one of those infamous "short-sleeved" Manning jerseys, which he's offering as game used. If you stayed away from bidding on the Unitas, you probably did yourself a favor. Just my two cents. --Steve
