A different Pujols bat on ebay Birdbats any help with this one?

guessing by the bid price its probably not legit. i emailed the seller and he said he got it from the cardinals and was on a waiting list for pujols game used bat. he didnt get coa from them because he said he didnt know you had to ask for them or something like that.

Pujols has been using a lot of X-Bats the past month (Model 13), but before this season, it was rare to see him with an X-Bat. In 2005, he used X-Bats in 6% of his plate appearances -- 20 (natural), 9 (black) and 13 (black handle and natural barrel). The black/natural bat had Victor Diaz's name on the barrel. Albert did not use any X-Bats with this (Hornsby) finish during a game in 2005. He may have done so in an earlier season, but not in 2005.

There was a time when the general public could purchase X-Bats just like those used by the the players. For that reason, many collectors, including myself, shy away from X-Bats that don't have perfect documentation or provenance.

This could be a real bat that simply has been misidentified as being used in 2005. I can't really judge it's authenticity based on the photos and information provided. But because it's an X-Bat without documentation, I'm not rushing to bid on it. If only the seller had secured that LOA from the Cardinals...
