Is anybody aware of Lance Berkman ever using an M9 Maple bat in 2008-2009 in a game or batting practice?

I was watching this auction closely, but in the end decided that this bat may likely be a BP bat and so did not bid. I scanned hundreds of photos and could find not a single at bat in the past two years where Berkman used a maple. I think that Berkman is very picky and consistent with his bats and I cannot recall ever seeing him not swinging an ash bat in a game. Unfortunately there are not many Astros games televised in KC, so I may have missed it. This bat has so many ink transfers that it would've been used in dozens of plate appearances, so if it was game used, one of us should have seen it.

Any thoughts? Likely batting practice bat? Or has anyone seen him use an M9 in a game?

One other thing that threw me was a lot of markings on the front barrel, my past research led me to believe his marks are typically very well concentrated on left and right barrel. Is this a correct understanding?

Thanks.
