Good topic Chris.

I have to go with Jay Bruce and Homer Bailey.... Bruce is an easy one, but I think I am such a big Homer Bailey fan still because I have been following him and the hype since Low A.

If anyone has any Homer Bailey or Jay Bruce items they want to part with, shoot me an email! :D

Victor Martinez-Simply put, he cried when he got traded. Was a fan favorite here in Cleveland and is probably the best catcher we've ever had. Although I enjoyed Sandy Alomar Jr. too.
Manny
Vlad
Votto-Had him on my fantasy team and he can just hit!
Junior-Anyone who followed him from the start can appreciate him living up to the hype and being the #1 card on the 1989 Upper Deck set!

I wouldnt say I am a closet Thome fan... and I admitted it freely a year agoi. I may not flaunt it often, but I've been around since his Indians days. While my Royals have stunk, I adopted the Indians in 1994 with Manny + Thome breaking out. I'm still claiming Berkman, though thats not real popular right now. And I said Butler last year and early this year, when almost everyone else was ripping him up and down.

Anyhow, I am glad to be here and know that I am not alone.

Like most people here I've been a baseball fan my whole life. I grew up playing it all summer on the neighborhood lot until the street lights came on and I still get excited every September watching the pennant races and on into October when the post season starts - no matter who's in it. The steroid era debacle tempered my outward enthusiam for a spell but it never went away. Now I feel we all have the opportuity to watch a new era of baseball with a large group of some of the most exciting young players to come along in generations. GREAT TOPIC!

The following players in no particular order.
Joey Votto (I'm a Reds fan)
Todd Helton (Met him when he was playing in the 1995 Hawaii Winter League)
Michael McKenry (2007 HWL, got his batting glove & bat from him)
Shane Victorino (I met him in 2009. He's a really cool guy, plus he's from Hawaii)
Ichiro Suzuki (Met him during the 1993 Hawaii Winter League)

But my number one favorite is Kurt Suzuki. I met him & his wife Renee last year, they are a class act.

I should have added Darwin Barney to my list too. I met both him & his mom back in 2007 when he was playing for Oregon State. His mom was born in Hawaii.

BTW... Oregon State destroyed our local team in Hawaii. On a positive note Oregon went on to repeat as the College World Series Champions that year.

My Top 6 favorites, in no particular order...
Joe Mauer
Albert Pujols
Jim Thome
Lance Berkman
Zach Greinke
Billy Butler

Not much has changed in the last year and a half...

I'd probably drop Greinke from the list. Maybe replace with Alex Gordon, whom I have been really impressed with this year - his bat is coming around and he is playing some of the best defensive left field I have ever seen. He is leading the entire majors in Outfield Assists at 13, second place is teammate Francoeur at 10. There is only 1 other LF with more than 6 and just 3 more LF with more than 4 assists. Alex is just playing OF really hard and fast, and he's only been playing outfield for about a year... Really turning his career around.

I'm also kinda partial to the new guy, Eric Hosmer.
