Anyone know who to contact at MLB auctions? Or the Tigers auctions?

Unless Miguel Cabrera has done some switch hitting lately, I don't think this helmet was used by him.

The last lefty to wear #24 for the Tigers was Warren Morris in 2003 according to Baseball Almanac.

Looks like someone is going spend $300+ for a Gary Pettis batting helmet.

Extremely disappointing from MLB Auctions.

The Tigers didn't begin using that number style until around the late 90s, I believe. They used plain white numbers during the Pettis era. Howard Wolf owned dozens of Tigers helmets at one point and could verify this.

Ended at $370.

For a Gary Pettis or Karim Garcia or Warren Morris helmet.

scott,

That is very disappointing. While the mlb auctions are swift and usually trouble free, they are almost impossible to get in touch with to correct errors before time runs out like you just showed. I had an issue with an auction they ran a year or so ago...I wasn't bidding thankfully but they were selling a game used Thomas jersey that I had in MY possession LOL...I wrote them and said that I wasn't interested in selling it :D Amazingly enough no one got back in touch with me until after the auction had ended and the email said that the listing i was concerned about had already ended and that they couldn't help me...to this day I wonder what the final result for that sale was. Oh well. Perhaps they provide some of the best provenance but at the same time leave something to be desired in the accountability department.
