Hey guys....what do you feel are the five most forged and/or counterfeited jerseys??? Maybe '91 Bird shirts? ANY Jordan without paperwork? Manny Ramirez shirts??? Thoughts?

I've heard about many Favre jerseys being fake, as well as Marino.

It would probably be safe to say that there are many Jordan and Bird fake jerseys out there.

Peyton Manning,

Isn't John Elway a big one or am I thinking of someone else?

Um, what's the name of that new quarterback in Minnesota...?

I've seen more bogus Walter Paytons than I can count. If only Wilson had incorporated just one identifying detail in the retail authentics to differentiate them from the gamers.....but they didn't. The result has been hundreds of Payton "game worn" jerseys, most being fake.

Kobe's & LBJ's seem to come in all shapes and sizes these days. At least more than my liking.

Yea, I agree with everyone so far..

Being an NBA and a little NFL, here's my top 5 in no particular order:
1991 Bird's
1995-1996 Jordan All-Star's
Any Jordan regular season/Finals from 1994-1997
1994 Dan Marino's,
Just found last week you need to add any 1992 Olympic Dream Team'er

34swtns...you hit the nail right on the head. About 1992 Anaconda sports and others begam selling game auuthentic Wilson NFL jerseys through SCD and other venues. I own Barry Sanders only 1992 game home(the same rips appear week after week on video). I have a 100% photo match which I posted elsewhere on this site. As soon as the ads came out the fakes began to appear. The 1992 fakes have been sold virtually everywhere authenticated by many so called authorities. I have written several online exposes but its a losing battle. Barry did not like to change jerseys early in his career. Usually 1-2 homes and aways per year. Yet look at all of them available. Buyer beware.
Most NFL teams had their star players available per these ads. So called game Jerseys of Jerry Rice and Thurman Thomas were available weekly to name a couple.
I see the same fake Barrys recycled over and over. I think the owners eventually figure out that hey just do not match any game images. I also own Barrys only 1991 home and I could write this artice all over again.

I am not sure if any player can touch Lebron, Jordan and Kobe in pure volume and many of the most popular have already been mentioned. I would have to add Tom Brady (and other recent Patriots jerseys) to the list as well as Rickey Henderson and Shaq.

My guess is Ryan Leaf.

Even the ones he wore in the few games he graced the NFL with......have to be considered fakes.

Going back a couple of decades, how about the tagged McAuliffe A's and Red Sox, the Big Red Machine era Cincinnati stars, or 1980s era Don Mattinglys?

If Pujols' jersey isn't the most forged in the hobby today, it certainly is in the team picture.

I'd have to go with Favre, mostly because not only are there a ton of fakes out there, there are fakes which were authenticated by his own representatives. Points for boldness, if nothing else.

Not to say these Jerseys were forged intentionally but now they end up on the market I would say as the most faked.

Any and all Scoreboard Jerseys seem at some point to make it down the road and miraculously turn into Game Used.

Good one. I hear he has striped gamers now.

How about the Ron Mexico jerseys that have been floating around. I would stay away from those.

I agree in MLB it is the Pujols Game Used Jerseys that I see the most problems with. Make sure you have a Cardinal's expert look at the jersey before you buy. The authenticators are making a lot of errors on the Pujols game Used Jerseys.
