There is a 1999 braves home John Smoltz jersey I have a chance to pick up but a little concerned about a missing patch. The shirt does not have the Hank Aaron 715 patch on the sleeve and it also has the MLB logo on the back of the neck. I thought that they did not add this logo until the 2000 season. any information would be helpful.

See the response I posted regarding this on your post on the Game Used Memorabilia Discussion thread. There IS a legitimate explanation.

It's possible that the jersey is from 2000 Spring Training. Home jerseys from 1999 jerseys were re-worn in 2000 Spring Training. The MLB logo was sewn onto the back collar and the Hank Aaron patch was removed. The 1999 tagging was still intact so check for that below the Wilson tag.

That's basically what I stated on the other section where you posted this question.

I own a 1999 home white Smoltz shirt signed as well, it is set 1.

I have many 1999 home whites, and it is set 3 that were stripped of patches and used for spring training the following year.

Hope that this adds some insight.

Thanks for that info. I did not know that set 3 was used for Spring Training. I thought it was just random sets.
