It appears that in 1980, #47 was worn by both coach Fred Koenig and pitcher Bob Babcock (most likely Koenig)

thanks! do you have any photos??

is it normal for the jersey not to have the nameplate?

I'm sorry but I do not have photos, but to answer your other question, it is very common to have rear nameplates removed for either other players to wear the jersey or to be recycled in the minors.

Rangers jersey's are fairly common in the memorabilia marketplace and while I don't know if this particular style is more desirable than others, my guess would be somewhere in the $100 or so range.

How did you acquire it?

Good Luck!

The info likely came from this book, which is absolutely the best few dollars you would ever spend.

I thought Babcock wore #46.

I dont see any player listed with #47 in 1980. I'm seconding Koenig.

I checked the 1980 Street & Smith's BB Yearbook...#47 was Koenig.

Also, regarding the NOB, I will have to double-check, but I don't believe the Rangers wore NOBs in 1980. My memory is based on a couple of 1981 Fleer cards of Rangers players...let me look this up and I'll get back to you.

these people were either rangers collectors or didnt know what they had. probably the same people who list ryan auto's on ebay for 500 dollars.

The 1980 Rangers' jerseys did not have NOB.
