For the past week Martin Prado has been using a Tom Glavine LVS bat. He never marked out anything and the bat still has "47" on the knob. This bat will for sure be on the market someday and it will most-likely pop up as a Glavine gamer so take a good look at the grain and markings and make sure to recognize this bat as a Prado gamer whenever it surfaces someday. I got these shots of Prado just hours ago using the bat:

Nice shots Kyle.

That Glavine bat looks like it's stamped New York Mets too. Can you confirm?

One thing to point out is Prado is a right handed batter and Glavine is/was a left handed batter. The Prado used bats would have hit marks on the left side of the label if he holds the bat with the label facing him. Of course if a left handed hitter on the Braves starts using Glavine bats then all bets are off.

Also some Glavine bats have taped handles and the pine tar on the Prado is not typical of Glavine game used bats.

Nevertheless valuable information Kyle.

It sure looks like it. I took a look at my photos of Prado from the Braves-Mets game last week and he was using another Glavine bat (you can tell by the grain), but this one has "ATLANTA BRAVES" on it.

As of August 1st, Prado is still using Glavine bats. This is the 3rd different one I've seen him use in-person. He probably has every single bat Glavine had.

These Glavine/Prado bats have now hit the market. I just got an e-mail from the Braves with two Glavine bats used by Prado. They are $500 each. I informed the Braves Merchandise Coordinator that they are actually used by Prado. I think I photomatched one of the bats to one of my pictures actually. The grain matches perfectly and I also see a couple marks that match as well.

I just got an e-mail back from the Braves. They are going to bring the bats back to the clubhouse and talk to Prado and figure out if these bats were originally used by Glavine or if Prado used these bats while they were still clean and game-issued.

Nice work kyle. I got that email as well and had thought about picking one of the bats up. Good thing someone is on the lookout for these things cause i sure dont wanna spend $500 on a Prado bat!

Kyle,

Great job, glad to hear that they are going to ask Prado about the bats. One of the bats is definitely a photo match to your photos.

Thanks, Bobby

I don't think anyone would pay $500 for a bat Glavine might have used lightly and then used a lot by prado. I bet they were just extra glavine bats that were never used and Prado decided to use them.

Glavine Game Used bat ( used only by Glavine ) $250
Glavine Game Used bat ( possibly used by him and Prado) $75
Glavine Game Used bat ( only used by Prado) $75

You should forward the pictures to the braves

I already did. It's what made them decide to bring them back to the clubhouse. Lisa (the Braves Merchandise Coordinator) informed me that both Prado & Omar Infante used Glavine bats in B.P. but not in games. I then forwarded her my pictures to show her that Prado did indeed use these Glavine bats during games. I haven't seen Infante use a Glavine bat though. He has been using a red bat though lately that I've never seen him use before.....I just need to get a good close-up of the barrel.

I just got a new list of available equipment today from the Braves and the bats are now being sold as Martin Prado game used bats.....$300 each. Thanks to Lisa Wessinger (Braves merchandise coordinator) for checking everything out and correcting the problem.
