Red Sox minor leauge jerseys 1980s

Hi - I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA) used recycled Boston uniforms during the 1980's. I guess this would also apply to there other minor league teams (New Britain, Bristol, ect). They all appeared to wear identical jerseys that the BoSox wore, at least the home jerseys. I guess this was pretty much the same for many of the teams in the Majors during that era. Question is, how can you tell if you are picking up an actual BoSox jersey, or something identical, that just happened to be ordered, issued and used by a minor league team. I can see someone having an 1980's PawSox jersey #26 and passing it off as a BoSox Wade Boggs? See photo below.

for that specific era of the red sox, in trying to determine whether or not a home paw sox jersey was recycled from the parent club or used solely at the minor league level, i'd think that you'd be looking to see if there was a year strip tag. the MLB/boston home red sox shirts made by wilson during that era had year tags.

this is just an educated guess as i'm not intimately familiar with 80s era pawsox jerseys. i noticed that for their road and BP shirts, the paw sox wore "paw sox" shirts but for their home jerseys they wore "red sox" shirts. lelands sold boggs' 1981 paw sox road jersey (see below) and while it was also made by wilson, it lacked a year strip tag.

if the paw sox received their home jerseys from the boston red sox, then the year tags would still be present. as well, i'd look to see if there were remnants of MLB patches that were worn by the parent club.

if the paw sox shirts only saw minor league action and were not recycled from the parent club then i imagine they would not have year tags.
