Any Mets guys have any thoughts you'd share on this Olerud Mets jersey on ebay?

I would love to have an Olerud Mets game used jersey but the 52 seems too big to me, I had a 1997 Olerud many years ago and I am sure it was a 48 or 50 but definitely not a 52.

Same seller had an Olerud Mariners for sale and it is a 50 from 2001, three seasons later than the Mets jersey:

So seems odd he would have a 48 or 50 in 1997, a 52 in 1998, then back to a 50 in 2001.
Any of you Mets guys have a size 52 Olerud Mets game USED jersey?
Thanks.

Don't know 100% for sure, but I bet he would have some extra length on his jersey. He's listed at 6'5". I think I ran across a 1997 jersey and he wore a size 48, so 52 seems a bit large. Just my $0.02.

Mike,

The jersey is bad. I have been in conversation with Zane Burns regarding this jersey, and he has since altered his description to "game jersey" from "game used jersey." He bought it in a recent auction and thought it was real. Once we discussed the jersey, he did the honorable thing and altered the description. He is a stand up guy.

Back to the jersey... Olerud didn't wear this size; I own 4 game used Olerud jerseys from 1999-2001 and all of them are 48s. More importantly, the 1998 alternate black home Mets jerseys were made by AIS, not Russell. Somehow this got to the market and transformed itself into a game used jersey over the years. Similarly, I came across another 1998 alternate black home of Mike Piazza; this one too was a 52, which also was not Piazza's size at the time. My feelings are they are authentic retail jerseys which were customized with added tagging; possibly from the same source... and of course, all are of star players. Bottom line is that neither match the player's size nor the manufacturer.

Good info Nick, thanks a lot for sharing.

If you ever wanna sell an Olerud Mets jersey, please let me know. I once had a 1997 grey AIS and have regretted selling it for some time.

Thanks again for sharing your expertise. I would not have moved on it due to my doubts ("When in doubt, go without") but I had it in the back of my mind so its good to have a conclusion and move on.
