Interesting. The mid 80's away game used bird jersey went for 11,500 + the buyers fee! They had this same jersey on their site for 5,000 for about 2 years. I thought about buying it but had a few issues with it, so I didn't. First, Bird wore a 46 for most if not all of his seasons-this was a 44. Second, I searched and searched for a photo match, or a close photo match, and couldn't find one. Lots of mid 80's photos of Bird and his teammates. I went by spacing, etc. and I couldn't find one photo match! I searched magazines, cards, gettys, corbis, yahoo, etc. etc. but nothing that matched that jersey.
I guess I should have bought it for 5 grand, and then submitted it right back to them for their auction and doubled my money.
They have another bird on their auction site that has all the same problems of the other jersey. Maybe someone should buy that and then submit it. Hurry, before I do.
