Any thoughts on why a 1967 Cubs road jersey would have an outline of a the 1969 100th Anniversary of baseball patch on the sleeve? I can see maybe the 1968 Illinois Sesquicentennial patch as the style was the same in 1968. The 1969 style was different altogether. All the other tagging looks just fine. The patch has me puzzled.

Perhaps it was a '67 that was recycled for a few yrs and was used in '69. Therefore the patch would've had to have been sewn on for '69 season. Back then I think they probably used jerseys until they were trashed.

I would have trouble believing the jersey was used by the big club in 1969 as the Cubs did away with the red and blue piping on the neck, sleeves, numbers and lettering on their 1969 road uniforms. It may have been used in the minor leagues in 1969 as minor league teams also wore the 100th Anniversary patches on their uniforms.
