wow. the only year that dawson played for the cubs when russell supplied their jerseys was 1992. the russell tag on this particular shirt is from 1993-95 but we'll ignore that.

so dawson's only year with the russell-supplied cubs was '92..but in '92 they wore single-color numbers. the ebay jersey has 2-color numbers. 1992:

hmm..the cubs did start using 2-color numbers in 1993..after dawson was long gone..but in 1993, they also began using nobs:

the ebay jersey has no nob. hmmm... something funny with that bear patch as well.. here's the bear patch they used in 1992 and 1993:

the bear patch seen on the ebay jersey was a version used from 1994-96. oddly enough, that'd be consistent with the style of the russell tag.

so what is the shirt? a 1995 shirt (can't be a 1994 as it's missing the MLB 125 patch) with a missing NOB and a missing strip tag:

You called it, Rudy...likely a lesser player, NOBR common that the jersey doctor turned into a Dawson, although that action may well have been before this seller obtained it.

It wouldn't be a Parent or Pratt, either...both of those hulks probably last wore a size 44 in freshman year of high school.:rolleyes:
