This is the Mark Kiger A's jersey that Don (DNRAPP) picked up for me at the A's fanfest. On October 13, 2006, Kiger became the first major leaguer since 1885 to make his Major League debut in a post-season game (Game 3 of the 2006 ALCS). He was added to the roster after Mark Ellis (another former Gator) got hurt in the ALDS. On 10/13, the A's wore their dark green jerseys. On the 14th, as shown in the picture of Kiger below, the A's wore their grays, same as the one I have.

So here's my question. Is there any other time when Kiger would have worn this jersey? Did they wear this style in Spring Training? Or is it possible that I have the jersey he wore in the ALCS?

Just checked out the game from the ALCS in '06, here is a screen grab for you, He comes into the game in the bottom of the 9th at about 3 hours 20 minutes into the game.

Thanks, Toyota.

I looked at all the Getty photos of the A's 2006 spring training and none showed the A's wearing the jersey I have. I'm really starting to think I have the one from the ALCS.

Its possible, but He only made the telecast for about 10 to 15 seconds for the game so those were all the pics I could get.

I couldn't find any spring training games with the away grey jerseys, only green spring training jerseys, but only a few games were available.

The A's never wear their regular season jerseys in spring training, as an FYI.

The A's usually only have game jerseys produced for players on the 40-man roster and they wear their BP jerseys during Spring Training games.

Mark Ellis was injured during the the ALDS and the only other available infielder on the 40-man roster during the regular season (who wasn't injured), Keith Ginter, filed for free agency as soon as the regular season ended. The league allowed the A's to add Mark Kiger to the post season roster since he was a member of the organization, even though he was never on the 40-man roster in 2006. Therefore there's a very good chance that you have his only road jersey. BTW, Kiger was released after the ALCS.

It's possible but nearly impossible to confirm.

That's not a spring training jersey, so that rules that out. However, it could be that multiple jerseys were produced in reserves for even the ALCS and he never wore that exact jersey.

Still pretty cool though.
