Walter Payton game issued?

I've been extended an offer to purchase this jersey. It is being referred to as a game issued jersey. it was supposedly acquired from a former equipment manager for the Bears in the 80's. Although I have seen other Payton gamers in sizes 44 and 46 auctioned through Heritage and Historic auction houses, the size on the Wilson tag is 42. It shows no wear. Any opinions would be appreciated.....

To me this jersey looks like it is a remake. Wilson remade these jerseys in the last ten years, I believe a limited edition of 1985 or so. You could have bought some on eBay for $100. The numbers and letters are slightly different on the remakes. They are duller and a more rubbery material which is the best way I can describe them.

It also looks like there is a tag inside the jersey above the Wilson tag. Please have the owner of the jersey look. I have handled game used, game issued, and remakes of these Payton jerseys, so I do know a little about their history.

Wow. I've never heard of any reissues. Do you know when they were avavilable and if reissues were done for other players as well? I will have the seller read to me what is on that inside tag and post it here.

As far as I know, Payton was the only remake by Wilson.

Looking at the photo closer (front and back) there is an obvious tag inside the jersey. I have never seen that tag on an original issued jersey, it looks like something that Wilson would have done more recently.
