I just acquired this pair of 1940s Cardinals home and away flannel jerseys, both number "10". When I first got these gems, I thought they could be from the St. Louis team. After doing some research and reading old posts from Jeff Scott (Birdbats), I learned that they had to be from a Cardinals' minor league team (button-front, not zip front, no chain-stitched name or year). Disappointed, but still glad to find them. Made by Rawlings, exactly like the Major League variety.
How could I go about finding what farm team used these? Is there a resource with 1940s minor league rosters?
My guess is that these shirts are from 1948. Can anyone help pinpoint the year? Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot for taking the time to post the list of teams and the photo. 1949 was the last year they used a black bat on the front logo. They switched to yellow after that. Yes, it is a needle in a haystack. I found the jersey in California. But I find jerseys from throughout the country here. Could be from any of the teams you listed.
Thanks again!

I've narrowed down the years to 1948 or 1949. Does anybody have knowledge of Cardinals farm teams from this era? Anybody know where to find the Cardinals' minor league teams from the late 40s? Did any significant players wear number "10" in the minors for the Cardinals in '48 or '49 ?
THANKS!

There was a site with a "Wiki" type format about Minor League Baseball history and affiliates. Would someone please post a link, I can't seem to locate it? Thanks.
