Oh man. Unbelievable. I just watched him throw the best game of his life last night. I can't friggin' believe it. Another person killed in the car was someone associated with the Angels but haven't heard if it is a player. Just horrible.

Listening to the Angels station. Doesn't appear that any other Angels personnel were in the car.

Just a lot of tragic car crashes of late. Hit and Runs. The 18 and 16 year old kids killed in South OC when they hit the tree. Real bummer.

I was checking out Nick's stats at the Baseball Cube, and out of curiosity clicked on a link to associated eBay auctions. A numbered Just Minors Stars 2007 Nick Adenhart Black Auto card that ends today had zero bids an hour and a half ago, and is now up to $39. I guess that kind of thing is inevitable, whether it's just people wanting to own a memento of a fallen player, or spectulators - who's to say?

Man. Last Saturday (4-4-09) was my daughter's Little League day at the Big A. It was the last ST game against the Padres. When we walked the field, only one player was out practicing, Nick Adenhart. Here's his workout:

My God....

How many more worthless tragedies are we going to read about because of these pathetic lost souls who drink their responsibilities away, then get behind a two-ton steamroller and end innocent lives???

GEEZUZ.........put this piece of dung behind bars for the rest of his miserable life. He has a prior, and was WARNED if he ever had anything to do with the loss of life related to alcohol, it could mean murder charges.

Bless the souls of the ones who perished in this senseless act of ignorance and stupidity. My deepest sympathy to Nick's parents.....and my prayers for the recovery on the one still fighting to live...

Nick is still with the Angels....just a different group now.

According to the Angels station, this guy has priors and was driving on a suspended license. The charge will reportedly be "murder". Thank goodness, get this idiot out of society. He was found limping on the 91 Freeway on the cell phone. Jeez.

Nick was well loved in my community. I know a few guys who played baseball with him in high school. I work with his uncle(who gave me an Adenhart autographed card last year) and he didn't make it to work today. Last thing his uncle said before he left last night was, "going to watch Nick pitch tonight." He was real proud of Nick. I never met Nick but sat at a table right beside of him at a Buffalo Wild Wings during this past off-season. It's terrible to see someone with so much talent, pass away at such a young age. I'm hoping this guy will be behind bars for a very long time!

Nick was born outside of Washington DC in Maryland and played ball about an hour away from DC. He was a top prospect in the area.

A shame to see such a good young man pass at such an early age. Our hearts go out to his family.

The headlines sometimes tells about the celebrity in a multiple fatality car accident and unfortunately 2 others were killed in the car with Nick.

This is a sad story:

Just brutal. It has hit the whole community hard here in the Los Angeles area. And you can tell form comments when this sad subject comes up....it doesn't matter who you speak to, friends or complete strangers, it seems to be making folks feel worse by the moment. With all the tough times everyone is going through in general, having something like this to digest just turns the stomach. There is just nothing anyone can do or say to bring any comfort. Sad, deeply painfully sad. I pray the families for all involved can somehow survive intact from the tragedy bestowed onto them.

GREAT!!

I'm glad the guy who oversaw this case was a principled arbiter, and not a bleeding heart sympathizing with the accused.

"If you make the decision to drink and drive, we will make the decision to charge you with vehicular manslaughter or murder and you may spend the rest of your life in prison. During this holiday season, think about the pain on the victims' families' faces before you drink and drive."

Very, very true
