Hello Everyone,
There have been a number of posts recently that have either implied or explicitly accused certain entities in the hobby or participating in fraudulent acts or criminal wrong-doing. As such, I think it is important to remind everyone of the purpose of this forum and address these matters so they do not continue.
Specifically, as stated on the bottom of each page of the forum, “This forum was originally created by Eric Stangel as a way to bring game used collectors together and help hobbyists educate each other.” That is, its intent is to allow collectors to share information and allow people to express opinions. Fortunately, we constantly hear from collectors that this forum has helped provide them with resources they have never had access to otherwise as well as save them untold thousands of dollars as it relates to buying questionable merchandise.
However, with that said, this forum is not intended, and never has been, as a mechanism to accuse individuals or entities of criminal activities. While our forum policies clearly state, “The views and opinions expressed in postings are the responsibility of the posters and not of Game Used Universe, Inc. and GameUsedForum.com, Inc.” we also feel it is important to make sure people are aware that we did not create this site as a vehicle for people to accuse others of criminal wrong-doing.
In addition, we want to remind everyone about the forum rule regarding questioning items in the hobby:
In instances where a forum member is identifying an item in the hobby they believe to have issues, it is expected that the poster clearly state their findings in the form of an opinion and provide adequate rationale for why they believe there is an issue. When possible, it is expected that the poster questioning an item will attempt to contact the seller of the item and allow at least 24 hours for the seller to reply before posting. This will prevent postings that may be generated based on misunderstandings of an item.
While we really don’t want to have to babysit every post, it is important that the rules be followed to prevent misunderstanding about items or intent. Also, if some members continue to accuse other of criminal wrong-doing, or continue not to follow the forum rules, they may be subject to the administrative rules outlined in the ‘Forum Rules’ section of the site as follows:
Your membership on this forum is subject to the rules detailed above and the rules are subject to change without prior notice. Breaching these rules can result in post or thread deletion, and continued breaches can result in your account being temporarily locked or permanently banned.
The decision to warn or ban a member will depend on the infraction and is solely at the discretion of the Administrator.
Administrators have the final say in any rule dispute.
