Thought some might enjoy pics from the Yankees Cubs game yesterday. The stadium is pretty amazing. Anyone else have a chance to go?

I was able to get a pic of the old stadium. You can see they took out the outfield walls and took out the sod. They were selling preorders for the grass.

looks nice for a place that took over what used to be a child's playground.

I've only read articles what the cost of the stadium was and other details.

How far is the new stadium from the old one?

Almost right next to the original stadium---but not as close as Shea to Citi Field

Sad to say, but my Cubs NEVER won a game in the old Yankee Stadium.:( They were swept in two World Series by the Yanks (1932 and 1938), and then were swept by the Bronx Bombers in an interleague series in the renovated version a few years ago.

Talk about CURSES!!

When there are no bodies in the seats, the bleachers look unfinished...like they still haven't installed seats there.

it's nice, but it's just not the same. it's going to take some time getting use to

there are also some pretty big design flaws, especially in the bleachers--walkways that are only a few feet wide.

that's not good when you have dozens of people trying to get somewhere

Thanks so much for posting the pics. I can't wait to see it later on this year and attend as many games as possible. And thanks for the photo of the old Yankee Stadium, had to admit to feeling a twinge of sadness seeing that empty places. Some of the most important and happiest events of my life occurred within those walls.
