My brother called me yesterday and said he was at an auction and that there was old baseball stuff there...he told me a chest protector, shin guards and an old Dubow glove, but he couldn't make out a name.....Of course I dropped everything I was doing and headed over there. This is what I got...The glove is a Heinie Manush...it just needed a little cleaning. The chest protector and shin guards are unmarked except one of the shin guards has a "5" printed on the inside. The Pennant is sort of a homemade deal, but it's from the same period.

Your brother really takes good care of you...ha ha. You have made out like a bandit once again. I particularly like the glove and chest protector. I don't think the shin guards are baseball however...no knee cover. I also like the homemade pennant. Thanks for showing us. How much for the lot?

I think the shin guards are football, but could have been used by someone playing baseball.

Payed $80 for the lot...unfortunately it was an in town auction on a very nice day which brought everyone out. Otherwise I would have probably gotten it all for a couple of bucks. Interesting fact is that this stuff all belonged to the first Nebraskan to win an olympic gold medal. Apparently the guy was a cyclist. Not sure if the shin guards were used for baseball, but all the equipment shown was found in a canvas bag in the garage....no catcher's mask or mitt though so who knows???
