I am new to this site and I don't want to make a mistake posting so I'll make this short and provide full description later. Please let me know where to properly post this.

I have the game used lineup card (the dugout one, not the umpire's card) from the Twins/Orioles from 4/14/2000, the night Cal Ripken hit his 2999 hit. I would like to sell it or trade it but am uncertain of the value so I can't list a price in the classifieds.

I'd appreciate anyone on the board or an administrator sending me an email and giving me advice on posting this. Thank you!

cordovacollector, sounds like a pretty cool item. The classifieds is definitely the right place. You should probably check out the rules on posting for the format as well as check out some of the items other members have put up. Below is a link to the guidelines (in case you have not already seen them)

As far as pricing, the idea of the classified is to put a price on it (no more than $500) that you will take for it. It can be a tough balance of not selling the item too low while still trying to attract interest. You also may want to consider posting a pic of the item as well. It goes a long way towards generating interest. There are a number of Ripken collectors on here so I am sure you have already received a couple emails on the card. If you need any more help, feel free to email me.

Thanks, DCGreg! I am going to try and get a scan of the front and back of the lineup card and post it this week.

Sorry this took so long ... I moved and my scanner and dig. camera are lost somewhere in a box.

Had this scanned uptown but looks like they trimmed it instead of showing the actual corners and edges but they really are great: no rips, no folds, no stains.

Send me an email if anyone has any interest. Thanks!

Sorry for the typo on the image text! It's supposed to say 2999th hit.

If I find a way to correct it, I do it asap.

I've had some emails about the lineup card. Thanks for your interest.

Since some feel the value of it is more than $500, then it might not be proper for me to list in the classifieds. Is GUU going to have an auction this Spring so I could list it there? Any other suggestions?

The lineup card was purchased through the Twins Pro Shop in Roseville, MN. The appeared fading or slight loss of navy ink on the bottom portion comes because the lineups are taped to the wall with athletic tape along the top and bottom edges. When the tape is removed, it almost always leaves ink loss marks like this.

Thanks again for your help on this!

Still have this for sale or trade. To fit the classified forum $ limit, I'm asking $500 and maybe some GU bat(s)? Ready to make a deal!!

Just got a great email from Brett that pointed out the obvious ... that I had obviously forgotten!

"This was from Cal's 2997th career hit. Your card is from April 14, 2000. Cal got three hits on April 15, 2000 his 2998, 2999 and 3000th hit in the 7th inning off of Hector Carrasco of the Twins. Still a nice card but it would be from his 2997th career hit game."

Sheesh! That is spot on! I was there for the series and should have remembered that. So thanks again, Brett!

And yes indeed, this makes it the card from Cal's 2997th hit ... from the night before he hit 3000 on 4/15/000. Sorry for the mistake!
