In addition to the 20% fee these people charge to allow you the privilege of spending your hard earned money with them, now they want you to spend what little you may have left, to pay for the authentication of items they are selling.

New Mastro Auctions Autograph Authentication Policy
As our customers are aware, Mastro Auctions is committed, with respect to signed material, to selling only items that have been reviewed and authenticated by PSA/DNA, James Spence Authentication (JSA), and, in certain instances, by Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA). Recent policy changes initiated by some of these third-party services, however, have resulted in Mastro Auctions restructuring its autograph authentication process. Effective with this catalog and going forward, any autograph consigned to our company will undergo a revised authentication process that will be initiated by PSA/DNA. Although the physical examination of each and every signed item remains unchanged, our company will no longer issue auction letters to serve as Letters of Authenticity (LOAs). Instead, PSA/DNA will now issue full LOAs for specific items in our catalog. All other items will be “Pre-Certified” upon being deemed authentic. A PSA/DNA Pre-Certified lot is one that has been reviewed by PSA/DNA autograph experts. Please note that it is the responsibility of the bidder to review the information provided for each lot in order to determine what form of authentication will accompany an item. As a service to our customers, Mastro Auctions will facilitate the process for those winning bidders who would like to upgrade the status of a Pre-Certified autograph to a full LOA.
Winning bidders of any lots that bear this special designation will also be eligible for a substantial discount if they choose to submit the autographs to PSA/DNA for full authentication. To take advantage of this special offer, the item or items must be submitted within 60 days of the auction’s closing with your receipt or proof of purchase from our auction house.
