Got in lots of new jerseys but most went up on eBay so won't show here. Got in these two as well.

Bubba Crosby 2005 GU Hat - I am 99.9% sure he wore this in the ALDS when he collided with Sheffield as I found a photo from the previous day showing writing underneath the bill like this. First Yankee hat with player personalization I have seen in some time - would love to see others if people have some:

I guess it's a good thing I didn't put in my snipe after all Joe!
You would have ended up with it either way - NICE pickup. I never was one to mind cracks/chunks. Looks like it has great use too.

Rick's apparently got his own 'memorabilia agent' - and he is taking time to inscribe stuff. Hang onto this one!

Got this in a couple of days ago. Dustin Pedroia 2008 LVS gamer from his AL MVP season. Bat shows nice game use with ball/seam marks and a ton of pine tar.

I may have a photo match of Pedroia using this ash bat vs the Rangers on 8-12-08, very high scoring game. Boston 19 vs Rangers 17, Pedroia had 5 hits with 2 rbi's. I'll post pics of the photo match later.

Thanks, Bobby

Tyler Yates 2008 Pirates red alternate jersey, jersey shows nice game wear with puckering and loose threads on the numbers.

The mlb hologram states that the jersey was worn on April 24, 2008 Cardinals vs Pirates, I checked that game and the Pirates used their white vests vs the Cardinals on the 24th, they did use the red alternate on Friday, April 25th vs the Phillies and Yates did pitch in that game.

I want to personally thank Jay, aka "Pietraynor" for going out of his way to get me this jersey at the 2009 Piratesfest. Jay was a pleasure to deal with and I look forward to dealing with him in the future.

Thanks, Bobby

andrew lang and vintageD: thanks! if a grail is the ultimate item a collector hopes to pick up one day, then this one exceeds my grail because i never thought i'd even see a shirt like this surface, much less be able to acquire it. it's beyond a grail.

sincityson: no auction house. i haven't seen a decent jays gamer from a solid starter appear at any auction house in years. this amazing shirt was courtesy of the forum's own mike specht! seeing as how i didn't want to chance the shirt to UPS/FedEx and we both live in southern california, mike was even good enough to meet me for an in-person delivery.

it's something to think of how much this forum has helped collectors in every aspect of collecting.

I was fortunate enough to purchase a couple more Frank Thomas items last month and the last bat arrived today! Thanks goes out Steve Smith and another frequenter but non poster on the site. 3 bats - Kissimmee Stix, Rawlings, and a early model Hoosier. The uniform is from 2002 and authenticated by Rob Steinmatz none-the-less. I had been holding off to get a Rawlings with great use. I had also been offered Kissimmee bats, but they were always game ready...this one shows use!!!! Enjoy.

After 6 years of searching, I FOUND my HOLY GRAIL! One of my all time favorite players is Sami Salo of the Vancouver Canucks. I have a nice collection of his stuff but I always wanted his IHL Detroit Vipers jersey.Problem is he played a grand total of 5 games for them. Ever. I had only ever heard of it's existance once and that was in 2002. A week ago on eBay, my baby FINALLY popped up.

So for those of you who keep looking for your rare items and you wonder "Am I ever going to find it?" Keep looking! One day I hope everyone feels the way I do about this shirt when you too find your Grail!

Awesome, Bobby! Just saw that Prime 9 show on MLB Network the other day - had a category on crazy players, most talkative players, or characters on the field - something to that effect. Anyway, they featured Millar. Can't help but like the guy. Very nice bats with signatures and inscriptions.

John,

Thanks! I agree, Kevin Millar is a very likeable guy and a character on and off the field.

I remember watching Millar on the Best Damn Sports Show when he spilled the beans about the team doing shots of Jack Daniel's whiskey before Game 6 and 7 of the 2004 American League Championship Series and before all four World Series games. He said once we won Game 6, we had to do it before Game 7, and every other game for good luck.

I forgot to mention that before Millar signed the bats, he looked them over then pointed to the model number M279 and said "Yep, these are my bats"

I heard the Blue Jays just offered him a minor league deal and a invitation to spring training, hope he lands a job with them, would be nice to see him retire in a Red Sox uniform.

Best Regards, Bobby

I recently picked up in trade what appears to be a 1990 California Golden Bears Copper Bowl jersey. I was told by someone in the Cal Athletic Dept. that #91 was worn by Todd Steussie his freshman year. Not sure yet if this jersey is game worn, game issued, or a possible retail jersey.

I contacted Sports Belle and they indicated that they did not manufacture any retail Cal Bears jerseys so any jersey with their tagging should be considered authentic which was good news. There are no apparent signs of use and there is no indication that a nameplate was removed. Not sure if Steussie played in the game but at this point I'm just trying to find any photos from this game to match the jersey style. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Kevin Millar Red Sox Bat - This one might get me kicked out of the Yankees empire. Haha. But I had a chance to go to game 5, 6, and 7 of the 2004 ALCS. Millar was one of the guys to hate, but he seemed like a guy good. Even though they beat my Yanks, I enjoy the rivalry.

I just picked these items up this week. The hat is a Mat Gamel game used Nashville Sounds hat from this year, he only played 5 games with them before being called up to the Brewers in Sept. The batting glove is from Tony Gwynn Jr. The bats are a Mat Gamel nick name (shoeless gar) bat and a Charlie Moore cracked bat from 1985.

Is it just me, or does the black coloring inside the SABATHIA letters look weird/out of place? Not saying fake at all, just a weird color scheme. Maybe I never noticed it before.

dcgreg25
02-12-2009, 12:41 PM
It is a different style that the Indians recently went to. I bought the jerseys directly from the Indians so I have no doubt about the authenticity as they also have all the proper tagging. Below is a pic of Laffey wearing the same style. The Sabathia may just look weird to the eye because he has so many letters with the dark fill.

A dugout circle used up at Yankee Stadium. It's the National League symbol. Comes with steiner and mlb(LH 227169). Does anyone know what games this would have been used for. I'm hoping that it could have been the on-deck circle for the 2008 All-star game because its shows more use for just sitting on the dugout?. Have to see what the mlb hologram says when its put in.

That is absolutely sick, Kyle! You could make yourself a fortune doing this for a living with some authentication company. I would pay quite a premium for a photo/videomatched item. How much do you charge for photo/videomatches where you circle the parts that match up perfectly? Can you contact me at lazukor@gmail.com?

Vintage,

He is solid to deal with. On the sori hat, be emailed me initially to get some input as he thought it was a Clay Bellinger hat from 2001. I asked if it was for sale, and he gave me a price. After some additional research I realized it was in fact Soriano's hat from 2003. He sold it to me at the original price he quoted me-I would guess most sellers would have upped the price right there or not even went through with the sale. Not Brad! Truly a pleasure to do business with, and a man of his word.

Just acquired a Mark McGwire game-used, home run bat from 1999. The bat is personalized to Willie McGee and autographed by Mac, who noted the date of the homer (it was hit in Montreal vs. Javier Vazquez). It was HR #51 that season and #508 in his career. As Cardinals fans know, McGee wore #51.

Thanks, Mike. I think the holy grail for most Cardinals bat collectors is a Dizzy Dean bat. I've never seen one. A 1944 Cardinals World Series black bat also would be an amazing find.

Of bats that might actually surface one day, I guess a 1964 Lou Brock Cardinals (not Cubs) bat would be the closest thing I have to a holy grail.

Just got in these NY Yankees pants. All are from Batting Practice from the Final Game at Yankee Stadium. Most show really nice use, leading me to believe they were regular season pants that were also worn on 9/21/08 and authenticated as such because of the importance of the game. Almost all have names stitched in the back and all are MLB and Steiner Authenticated.

Thanks! Just an FYI but when I was looking for Alexander pics I ended up figuring out that the Redskins wore their white jerseys 14 out of a possible 17 games during the 2007 season. If your planning on getting one from that season I'd definitely go with a white jersey since they are going to show the most use.

Well, more recently I've been buying only pieces that are photomatched, but my collection is now mostly all photomatched. There's not much left in my collection that actually isn't photomatched; but if I have something that doesn't atleast have a style-match, then I'll most likely sell it. Alright, this time just team issued jerseys: A Mike Esposito Team Issued Rockies and a Matt Holliday Team Issued of the same nature. The latter is still being analyzed by me and a couple of members whether it is a retail authentic or a Team Issued. At this moment, I will state it as a TI, simply because the previous owner stated the jersey was purchased new, without retail tags and its 0063 code. If anyone else can help me out, on setting this Holliday jersey straight, please feel free to contact me.

from the koreans' st camp here in bradenton. they have 2 americans on their roster, one of which is cliff brumbaug. he is very nice and pleasent i must say.
cliff gave me the items, which was very nice of him to do. the gloves are unique and cool, and the balls have a really smooth, slick feel.
notice the LS has the "new" stampings on the knob, which is prety nice. although not game used, i took this pic of sidney ponson and my son. sidney did give him the ball, so at least that is used! :D he is representing team netherlands, who is training here, for the WBC.

marinersbasebalfan21,
I noticed that your on the hunt for a nice Edgar bat,and to be honest plan on spending atleast $400 for a medium used $500-$700 to heavy used one of his. Aswell I live here in Cali and am from WA, but knew about MillCreek I have shopped with them for about 3 years now. No they dont post on their site what may come in the door. So I usually call them when I am looking around; Brent is a great guy to deal with there and I have nothing but nice things to say about those guys. So just give them a call I know the last time he emailed me 2weeks ago they had 1-Edgar Rawlings/auto with light to medium use for $400 and some really nice Buhners. But then again I fell like I am leaking my hidden spot for Mariners game used. Good luck on your "Qwest"!

Got my two 2008 Frank Thomas Blue Jays jerseys in the mail yesterday, direct from the Jays and with MLB authentication. Both jerseys show use and according to the Blue Jays, they are two of only a few jerseys that got removed from their bags and actually used in games despite the Team Issued tagging by MLB. I believe the black jersey was used when he hit a grand slam and the baby blue was used in the April 14th game, as all the april 4th baby blue gamers where authenticated and put on a shelf to be sold later. The april 4th Thomas has/had "issues" so this is the only baby blue Thomas gamer to be sold.

Trevor Linden has been the heart and soul of the Vancouver Canucks for the last 20 years. He secretly donated thousands of hours of his time and energy and celebrity to those who were less fortunate then him. He didn;t ask for an ounce of recognition, he just felt it was his responsibility. Too humble to allow the Canucks to add a patch to their jerseys for his retirement ceremony this past December, he made the small concession of allowing a #16 patch to be added to the honorary guests shirts worn during the ceremony. Not the current color scheme mind you but a yellow red and white number to match the highlight of any Canucks career, the 1994 Skate Logo shirt they wore in the Stanley Cup Finals year. Only 10 were made. There will never be one made available to the public. So the only way to get a memorial #16 patch was to get one of these, when they were recently auctioned off.

Greg Adams is responsible for two of the most important goals in Canucks history. First he scored on a rebound from Trevor Linden against Felix Potvin and the Toronto Maple Leafs to send them to the Stanley Cup Finals that year. Then he received a great pass, again from Trevor, in OT of the first game of the Finals and buried it behind Mike Richter and the New York Rangers.

When you add these two things together, this was obviously a shirt I HAD to own. I can proudly say this jersey is in my collection but more so that the entire cost was donated to charity, as per Linden. ;)

Roberto Alomar Blue Jays turf shoes - circa 1991. Big thanks to Rudy and Mike Specht.

I was able to track down a photo to match these shoes. From the Stephen Brunt book "Second to None" and from the Toronto Sun newspaper for a copy of the photo. It's easier to see in person, but the blue marks on white (the left shoe) and the hand drawn 1 on the right shoe.
