I am looking for game-used football, basketball and baseball Auburn University jerseys. If they are autographed, that is even better.

If anyone knows a resource for this, I would appreciate it. I have been having a hard time trying to find items like these. Obviously, I only want to work with someone who can authenticate the items.

Thanks for your help!

schuls,

I have a white Auburn football jersey that was worn by former offensive lineman Victor Riley (#68). I just picked it up a couple weeks ago and haven't had time to photograph it yet; if you're interested, I'll get right on it though.
The nameplate is still on there as well.

Scott at www.collegejersey.com (http://www.collegejersey.com) usually has some Auburn gear and possibly game worn All Star game jerseys of former Awbarn players

I appreciate the link, but I have been there and basically, they get their jerseys from the equipment manager at the university, who removes the name plate.

Plus, I am looking for more rare pieces, like Charles Brakely basketball jerseys, Bo Jackson, Frank Thomas, etc.

Thank you though.

I am interested in this, but I have a few questions. Is it an Auburn jersey? Do you have authentication on it at all? Is it autographed? When was it worn?

Let me know and we can talk about. Do you have a price in mind?

schuls72,

I'll tackle your questions in order.

1) Yes, it's an Auburn (white) jersey
2) No; based on my trained eye with football jerseys I feel comfortable saying that it's the real deal
3) No, it's not autographed
4) Based on some analysis I've been doing, I'd point to 1994 as being the season of use. Riley was a freshman that year and played in every game.

I'll try to snap some pictures for you tomorrow afternoon.

schuls72,

I just snapped a few pictures and posted them on my Webshots page. There's not a ton of visible use to this one, which isn't uncommon for Russell Athletic jerseys such as this. The only time I've seen a Russell with good use to it was at the high school I last coached at, where one guy played probably 70% of the total snaps (OL and MLB) and just destroyed it. But then again, there were other guys who played even more and theirs looked fairly new at the end of the year.

The main visible wear is a repair on the left side of the neck (about 3" long), some scuffing to the shoulder numbers (and a couple of big ones on the back numbers) and a few small unrepaired holes. The collar in the area of the repair has a nice series of warps to it; it's likely that a DL grabbed on and pulled, which warped the collar and also created the tear that necessitated the repair.

My Webshots page is http://community.webshots.com/user/rockytopreb/

The Riley jersey pics are located under the "Auburn Football" folder.

nathan,

I have to admit that i have only minimal interest in this, only because he is not the names I am looking for...but i do have some interest in it.

Where did you get it? What are you looking to sell it for? I have to do some research on this to make sure it is legit before i would buy it.

Depending on where you got it from, is that source someone who has what i am looking for? i.e., Bo Jackson, Ronnie Brown, etc?

Thank for the pics.

schuls,

I picked it up about two weeks ago off of eBay. Here's the link:

Obviously, Spencer Riley didn't play at Auburn at the same time that he was centering Tennessee's offensive line to a national championship; Victor played 1994-97. I didn't follow up with the seller about more Auburn stuff because I honestly am not interested in that blue and orange trash.;)

Here's a picture of Frank Sanders from 1994 wearing this same style of jersey.

And here's one from 1995 of Dameyune Craig. The style of jersey isn't much different, but notice in the next picture that the jerseys had the "A" patch on the collar. This particular jersey doesn't show any signs of the A patch ever having been applied.

1996 and 1997 both had the drop-shadow two-color numbers.
