I am looking for a minor league box score from 1986 for a minor league team. Any idea where I could begin my search, the team is the Denver Zephyrs and a date would be July 6th.

Any tips or leads? AWA85@live.com

retrosheet.org is awesome but it doesnt have minor league box scores. that would have been a godsend

i dont think minor league box score mean much except for that particular year. i never heard of the all-time homerun king in the minors.

if you find a site let me know.

i could not find a boxscore for Charleston Riverbats anywhere.

Thanks, still looking for July 6 1986 box score of the Denver Zephyrs. Checking a little Reds history, might lead to something ;)

Your best bet is probably trying the Denver Post for them to research or provide you with the microfilm.

If you have a college campus in your area their libraries should hopefully contain major newspaper archvies on microfiche. You could also try this resource to research the boxscore your looking for.

I've used the newspaper archives in the library at the college I work at a few times looking up preseason rosters, old articles, as well as back issues of Sports Illustrated. The archives seemed to go back a few decades at least for a number of the major newspapers. It's a great resource and it's free! Good luck on your search.
