I am looking at a Mantle Used Basebll that has provenance from a umpire from the game. The umpire signed an inscription that includes he was 3rd base umpire. I tried for the first time to validate a umpire provence thru retrosheet.org. According to retrosheet.org, it says he did ump that day but at 1st base. Does this inscription bother anyone?

It depends on the UMP who signed it...is he still alive?
