THIS JUST IN: I was looking forward this weekend to adding Jim Bunning to a Tiger Stadium Litho with signatures I have been lugging around from show to show since my wife and I were just dating in '93. After my surgery I had 3 weeks ago I am still not doing alot but I figured the old autograph/hobby experience so prominent in the 90's would help me out alot...
Well, with the economic climate as it is in Michigan (poor) and governed so strongly by the auto industry, I was informed by the promoter today via phone that the signing had been cancelled because Bunning, as a Kentucky senator, had voted no to the buy-out, and threats, boycots, etc were being heard as going down as soon as Bunning would touch down in our fare state Sunday...
So, just another example of how our hobby is affected by the economy which has already seen people selling items at a loss because of no job, divorce, etc. etc. Pretty scary stuff. Everybody hang in there and we'll try an have a nice holiday...
